PGCIL Trainee Selection Process:
The selection process for the recruitment of Diploma Trainees in POWERGRID consists of the following stages:
- Written Test (Computer-Based Test):
- Part I: Technical Knowledge Test (TKT) with 120 questions specific to the respective discipline.
- Part II: Supervisory Aptitude Test (SAT) with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, data sufficiency and interpretation, numerical ability, etc.
- All questions carry equal marks (1 mark), and wrong or multiple answers result in a negative mark of ¼.
- Qualifying Criteria in Written Test:
- For UR/EWS Vacancies: Minimum 30% marks in each Part-I and Part-II separately and a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
- For Other Reserved Vacancies: Minimum 25% marks in each Part-I and Part-II separately and a minimum of 30% marks in aggregate.
- Final Merit:
- Final merit for selection will be based on the marks secured by candidates in the Written Test (100% weightage).
- Shortlisted candidates will be empaneled category-wise in proportion to the number of vacancies in each category.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination:
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and a pre-employment medical examination as per POWERGRID’s norms and standards of medical fitness.
- Service Agreement Bond:
- Selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 2,50,000/- for General and OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates and Rs. 1,25,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, committing to serve the Corporation for a minimum of three years after successfully completing the training.
